Review and swatches: Femme Fatale Cosmetics eyeshadows!

I have four eyeshadows and four blushes/illuminators from Femme Fatale Cosmetics to show you! This post will be eyeshadows only, I'll do a separate one with the blushes :)

*DISCLAIMER - these products have been provided for review. This has not influenced my opinion in any way.*

Since these are all complex, shimmery shades I did swatches over Pixie Epoxy. These were done in a mix of artificial/natural light since it was cloudy and overcast the weekend I wrote this review. That aside, I'm really happy with my efforts to capture the colours.

RUBY WINGS
Site description:
"Soft ruby pink with a smooth pink finish."

My thoughts:
Soft fuschia with a gentle magenta sheen. Really beautiful colour.

SHIFTING SANDS
Site description:
"A buttery smooth jasmine yellow with subtle green shimmer."

My thoughts:
Metallic, soft green-toned yellow. If you dislike bright yellows, or like yellow but it doesn't suit you, I'd definitely encourage you to try this. You can use it as a wash of colour over primer with a light hand. I actually can't wait to use this!

OBLITERATE
Site description:
"A muted cerise eye shadow with a subtle colour shifting shimmer which alternates between aqua, pink and soft green."

My take:
Muted medium grape with a hint of blue-green shimmer. I think this would make a gorgeous liner or crease colour. I'm a very matchy person as well, so I'd probably pair this with a berry lipstick.

SUNFIRE
Site description:
"A sweet peachy pink with coral tones and a striking copper gold shine. Not to be missed!"

My take: peach-tonded pink with a strong gold sheen. Not very 'me' but a gorgeous shade indeed.

Sohpie very clearly marks which shades are lip safe as well, so I grabbed the only clear gloss I own (Lanolips lip treatment in Lemonaid) and using just my finger patted/mixed a bit of shadow into the gloss.
Ruby Wings
Sunfire
Shifting Sands (applied very lightly and then blotted)
Sophie has done so many amazing things with the Femme Fatale  Cosmetics shop and all the indie nail polish available through there, I think her incredible eyeshadows get overlooked sometimes. You can buy samples in bags (1/8th of a teaspoon) for $1.10, mini jars (3g) for $3.10 and full-size shadows (5g) for $5.85, which are all very affordable for powder cosmetics. She has a huge range of colours as well. I think any fans of Aromaleigh would love her eyeshadows.

Blushes and illuminators coming up next!

  1. I have Ruby Wings (came free) but thought it was too ordinary compared to some other colours I reviewed. Still nice to have an Aussie around though.

    1. I'm not much for pinks, especially in eyeshadow. Some of her green, blue and purple shades are actually really stunning.
