Review: Vice and Velvet Body Mousse

Most of the great and popular indie B&B companies are located in the U.S, Canada or the U.K. Due to the long TAT associated with products like soap, perfume etc., for us Australian indie B&B fans, it means it can take anywhere from 3-8 weeks to receive our goodies from companies. So when I found Vice and Velvet, an Australian company, I was cautiously optimistic.


V&V currently have two shops going - an Etsy and an independent website which is beautiful.


I ordered two soaps from - Blushing Phoenix and Honey Trap - on the 8th of February. My order was posted on the 12th since both soaps were pre-made. They arrived with a free sample of their Body Mousse, which is what I'm reviewing today since I'm absolutely in love with it.

Black Jack Alley is described as "black raspberries, dark patchouli, ground tonka beans and a hint of smoky cedar". I normally avoid patchouli like the plague, but the raspberry and tonka bean sweeten and mellow the scent so beautifully! The scent in the body mousse is very gentle, and completely dissipates after about 10 minutes, so you don't need to worry about it clashing with your perfume.

This is what's left of my sample after using it on my elbows twice, feet once, legs once and hands once!

As for the body mousse itself - god it is divine. It looks like whipped cream in the jar, and it feels like heavy whipped cream when you scoop it up. It melts into your skin and a little goes a long way. The oils take a minute or two to sink it, and then leaves your skin incredibly smooth and soft. It does leave a bit of oily residue on your hands since it's packed with natural oils.
